Bald Eagle Ballistics LLC complies with all federal and Michigan state laws regarding the sale and transfer of firearms and ammunition. You must meet the following age requirements to purchase from us:
Firearms:
Long Guns (Rifles & Shotguns):
Must be 18 years or older
Must pass a background check
Handguns (Pistols):
Must be 21 years or older to purchase from a federally licensed dealer (FFL)
Must have a valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or purchase permit (if required)
Must pass a background check
Note: Michigan residents who are 18-20 may legally possess a handgun and purchase from a private party, but under federal law, FFLs (like us) cannot transfer a handgun to anyone under 21.
Ammunition:
Rifle or Shotgun Ammunition: Must be 18 or older
Handgun Ammunition: Must be 21 or older
Identification Requirements
All customers must present a valid, government-issued photo ID with date of birth and current Michigan address. We reserve the right to deny any sale if legal requirements are not met.
Background Check & Firearm Transfer Policy
Bald Eagle Ballistics LLC strictly follows all federal and Michigan state laws governing firearm transfers and background checks.
Background Checks (NICS)
All firearm purchases through Bald Eagle Ballistics LLC require a successful background check conducted through the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
A valid, government-issued photo ID with current Michigan address is required.
If you are delayed, we will hold the firearm until a final determination is received or the mandatory hold period (3 business days) has passed, per federal law.
If you are denied, we cannot complete the transfer, and the firearm will be returned to inventory or the seller if it’s a private-party transfer.
Michigan CPL holders are exempt from the NICS check when purchasing a firearm, but we still verify the validity of the CPL and may run a check at our discretion.
Firearm Transfers
We accept incoming transfers from other FFLs. Please contact us in advance to coordinate.
The transfer fee is $__ per firearm (you can fill this in).
Transferees must be the actual buyer/transferee and must complete ATF Form 4473 and pass a background check (or present a valid CPL if exempt).
Handguns must be transferred to Michigan residents only, and a purchase permit or CPL is required unless exempt by law.
Long guns may be transferred to residents of Michigan or other compliant states.
Straw Purchases Are Illegal
Purchasing a firearm on behalf of someone else is a federal crime. All buyers must be the actual purchaser.
Shipping Policy
At Bald Eagle Ballistics LLC, we currently do not ship firearms or ammunition under any circumstances. All firearm and ammo sales must be completed in person and in accordance with federal and Michigan state laws.
